The Toyota Hilux has also made a name for itself in motorsports, particularly with its participation in the Dakar Rally. In 2012, two modified Toyota Hilux vehicles entered the competition under the Imperial Toyota team from South Africa, with driver Giniel de Villiers achieving commendable rankings: third place in 2012, second overall in 2013, fourth place in 2014, and again second place in 2015. Additionally, the Toyota Hilux Revo Rocco was revealed at the 34th Thailand International Motor Expo on November 30, 2017.
